Looking for a romantic half term break away in Devon? Beach Cove will be the perfect home away from home for your half term escape!

With our quirky accommodation in the heart of Devon, Beach Cove Coastal Retreat will offer you the tranquillity and beauty that you crave on an escape away. But with so much on in the local area to explore during the half term too, you can have as much fun and adventure as you choose!

wildlife and dinosaur Park

Reopening for the season with a brand new indoor soft play area, you will love a visit to the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. Visit all the animals, from African lions and baboons to meerkats, reptiles, grey wolves, sea lions and many more! You can enjoy an animal experience day, ranging from feeding the lions, a sea lion meet and greet, shadow a keeper for a day, or even swim with the sea lions! Make sure to explore the attractions, from the botanical gardens, bug world, learn the history of the Higher Leigh Manor. Down to the basement of the Tomb of the Pharaohs, where hieroglyphics were lovingly recreated, and can be translated by following the chart on the wall, the attraction is built to be fun and educational, and even a little bit scary when the ‘mummy’ comes to life!

ilfracombe aquarium

Reopening on 4th February after a refurbishment you can be one of the first to see the changes at this award winning, all-weather, educational family attraction in Devon. Located alongside the picturesque harbour, the aquarium provides a fantastic insight into the wonders of the aquatic world found locally around the coast of North Devon. The beautiful exhibits are carefully recreated natural habitats that provide homes to over 75 species of fish, so whether you enjoy rock pooling, fishing or scuba diving there will be something to fascinate you as you travel through them. Marvel at the colourful corkwing wrasse, the balloon wrasse and even the lesser octopus, also keep an eye out for the dragonet, who will be found skimming the sand surface looking for shrimps and worms to eat!
