The beautiful Tudor palace is filled with love and romance this half term, watch as the courtiers try to win each other’s love and attention, as well as yours! In the Elizabethan court, love is not a private matter as you will see while wandering around the palace grounds, the dashing courtiers who will use music, sonnets, dancing and royal desserts to flirt and impress each other, and you. Take place in a fun filled Palace Quest, discover all about courtly love in the Tudor times, make sure to collect your map on arrival, meet the courtiers, solve puzzles and create your own friendship gift along the quest. A fun day out for all the family, where you can get involved and learn all about the game of courtship during the Elizabethan times.


the british wildlife centre

Open all year around, half term is the perfect time to explore the amazing British Wildlife Centre, home to over 40 different native species, from the tiny harvest mice to the majestic red deer! While exploring the centre you’ll see rarely spotted critters such as otters, Scottish wildcats, foxes, deer and stunning free flying British owls. You can even venture into the underground sett where you’ll spot the elusive night time creatures like badgers. Enjoy the popular keeper talks, giving you the chance to learn more about the animals and the challenges they face in the wild, with the little one’s loving Pip’s Corner, a wildlife themed activity area perfect for young children. There is also an outdoor interactive area at Pip’s Corner, where you can build a heron’s nest, explore an underground badger sett, climb up an otter bank and slide down the other side, as well as a jumping pit where you can jump as high and as far as the animals. Half term fun for all the family!


woolly week

Half term week is all about the woolly wonders of Gladstone Farm! There are new born lambs expected at the farm, so you can learn more about these adorable animals during the sheep talks – where you may even get lucky and see a little lamb being born! You’ll meet Shelly the Sheep as she wanders around the farm at various times throughout the day, so get practicing those high-fives! Enjoy a free sheep craft and sheep herding hustle, where you will make a balloon sheep (for free!), then gather on the starting line with Shelly the Sheep, and see if you can herd your balloon sheep into the pen without touching him! Don’t forget venture into the brand new Tea Room for something delicious to eat from the brand new menu!
