Tilford Woods Lodge Retreat is the perfect place to enjoy a staycation in the English countryside.
It’s a pet-friendly resort with no facilities which is why it is such a good base to have whilst exploring Surrey. Although our lodges are self-catering offering you everything you could need to create your own delicious meals, sometimes it’s nice to go out for dinner. But if you aren’t from around the area you may not know where is good near Tilford Woods so we have done that research for you. The Duke of Cambridge
Tilford Rd, Farnham, GU10 2DD | 3 minute walk
Just down the road from the resort is The Duke of Cambridge, a traditional family-friendly pub in Tilford which is only a 3 minute walk away! It’s an amazing pub to visit all year round whether that’s in the summer sitting in the patio and beer garden or during the winter months in front of the log burner. All their food and drink is of high quality and locally sourced and you can find a range of mouth-watering dishes on their menus.
Barley Mow
Tilford St, Tilford, Farnham, GU10 2BU | 3 minute drive
The Barley Mow is a classic pub with indoor tables, outdoor tables in their large riverside garden and a headed marquee for a warmer outdoor dining option. Their menu changes seasonally but you will always find Barley Mow using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. It is also known for being the most photographed pub in the UK as it overlooks the picturesque Tilford Green.
The Watermark Restaurant
Farnham, Surrey, GU10 2QD | 11 minute drive
The Watermark Restaurant is in a stunning setting with huge floor to ceiling windows so you can look out at the stunning gardens and lakeside views around the venue. Offering a brasserie-style menu, you can enjoy anything from a Sunday roast to teriyaki salmon. They also offer breakfast 7 days a week and then all day dining till 9.30pm.
Yiayias at The Fox
21 Frensham Rd, Lower Bourne, Farnham, GU10 3PH | 8 minute drive
You will find Yiayias at The Fox inside a 17th century public house that has been transformed into a bright and welcoming Greek restaurant. There is a great range of food available to order from Greek flatbread wraps to Cypriot style kebabs, Greek salads and amazing platters perfect for sharing. They also have a buffet menu and a kids menu available throughout the week.
Heavens Kitchen
62A East St, Farnham, GU9 7TJ | 13 minute drive
This independent Mediterranean steak house is the perfect place to go if you are after locally sourced ingredients like steak. Heavens Kitchen has so much to offer from a classic main menu where you can try their award winning steak. To a set lunch menu and Sunday roast menu. They even have a delicious breakfast and brunch menu where you can enjoy anything from a full English to eggs on toast.
The Donkey
Charleshill, Farnham, GU10 2BF | 7 minute drive
The Donkey is a classic pub with a menu and prices to match. They also have offers on throughout the week like ten pound Tuesday or fish Wednesday. In the summer months you can enjoy eating outside with their outdoor seating that overlooks the donkeys enclosure. Yes that’s right The Donkey got its name because they actually have donkeys there.
Caffe Piccolo
84 West St, Farnham, GU9 7EN | 12 minute drive
Sometimes there is just nothing better than a delicious bowl of pasta or some pizza right? At Caffe Piccolo you will be able to enjoy a range of incredible Italian dishes. The restaurant is on 2 split-level floors and you will find murals along the walls and ceiling timbers. There is a classic main menu and kids menu but they also have a set menu and specials menu.
The Spotted Cow

You could call this a hidden gem in Farnham, The Spotted Cow is located in a 4 acre wooded garden and serves all the items you would see on a classic pub menu. It’s an idyllic country pub with a large beer garden perfect for summer. Enjoy the likes of a seafood risotto, halloumi or beef burger, cod and chips or even a delicious wood fired pizza.
Ball and Wicket
Holt Pound, Farnham, GU10 4LA | 14 minute drive
Located on an old cricket pitch, the Ball & Wicket is a family-friendly pub serving all the classic pub comfort foods and Sunday roasts. Enjoy the likes of pie and mash, steak and chips, fish and chips and more! There is beautiful woodland surrounding the pub which you can enjoy the view of as you sit outside in their stunning beer garden in the summer months.
