York is a city full of activities and fun for Easter, where all ages can enjoy this chocolate-filled time of year. When: 30th March – 28th April / Where: The Deep Aquarium

Join in with The Deep’s secret special agent team and take a trip to the coastline to see what you can find out to help solve the crimes and earn a CSI badge! There will be a number of activities available, including creating your own fun sand art, following Inspector Sharky’s trail and decipher the clues, and don’t forget to get stuck in with the interactive presentation too!

When: 6th – 28th April / Where: Lightwater Valley

The theme park will be offering a wide variety of activities throughout the Easter holidays, including the new ‘Outer Space’ Magic Lights Puppet Show for the little ones to soak up, as well as Riggmoor Farm offering animals encounters that all ages will enjoy, with animals including lambs, donkeys, alpacas and even adorable pygmy goats. Explore the park with the help of the treasure map and solves the puzzles for a chocolatey treat!

When: 13th – 28th April / Where: Beningbrough Hall

There will be a plethora of activities to get stuck into in the Beningbrough Hall gardens, including watching out for all the baby animals wandering around in the spring sunshine, along with learning how to plant a patch, discovering what’s in the pond and of course, the annual Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunt on Easter weekend.

When: 13th – 22nd April / Where: Treasure’s House

Explore this hidden and lavish stately home created in 1897 by following the trail and claiming your chocolate prize. Treasure’s House will also be hosting activities inside and outside, including garden games, creating fun bunny ears and following the magical and mythical creatures that live in the gardens.


York chocolate festival

When: 18th – 22nd April / Where: Parliament Street

York is the home of chocolate in the UK and enjoys a rich history of the coca bean, which can be heard on the many walks and tours around the city, but is taken full advantage of during the York Chocolate Festival. Make sure to taste as many mouth-watering samples as you can and learn some tips of making your own chocolate treats during the demonstrations.


Embark on The Great York Bunny Search throughout the whole city of York, from 2nd to 23rd April there will be 26 hidden bunny sculptures around the city for you to find, each with their own special and colourful designs, they will be hiding in all kinds of places (including shop windows…) and don’t forget to share your pictures on Instagram while tagging @visityork and #YorkEaster.
