cycling holidays in the Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight is a great location for cycling holidays, with the whole island being a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We have two luxury resorts called Woodside Coastal Retreat and Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat which are based near Cowes. This is where the stunning Red Squirrel Trail begins. This scenic cycling route is mostly made up of disused railway lines and will take you past countless wildlife habitats including woodlands and farming countryside. As the name of the trail suggests, you should also look out for red squirrels which can regularly be seen in the woodland areas.
Another popular cycling route on the Isle of Wight is the Sunshine Trail which at 12 miles in length is suitable for a variety of skill levels. This route has a total ascent of 171m and maximum elevation of 111m, passing through New Church, Horringford, Godshill, Shanklin and Sandtown allowing you to really get in touch with the culture of the area.
