Canterbury

Canterbury is just a short drive away from Canterbury Reach and is a city full of amazing things to see and do. With ancient walls built by the Romans, cobbled streets and timber-framed houses you can learn all about the history of this city from the many museums located around the area. There is plenty of history around Canterbury Cathedral too with the tomb of the Black Prince and it was where Thomas Becket was murdered.

Folkestone
23 minute drive
Faversham is a traditional port town with a harbour and sandy beaches to explore. The most popular area is Folkestone Creative Quarter with cobbled streets, colourful shops and coffee shops. On a summers day you can enjoy sitting in Kingsnorth Gardens or walk along the Leas Promenade and on a clear day you can actually see all the way out to France.

Faversham

The small but beautiful medieval market town called Faversham is only 10 miles from Canterbury and makes a great day out. It’s actually the oldest market town in Kent and has plenty to see and do whilst you’re there. One of the main things Faversham is known for is being home to the oldest brewer in Britain, Shepherd Neame. Make sure you check what’s on before you go as well as they have plenty of food and drink festivals on throughout the year too.

Whitstable
29 minute drive
If you are looking for a seaside town in Kent, Whitstable will be perfect. Famous for its beautiful beach, fresh seafood and independent quirky shops, there is plenty to see and do during your time in the town. The Sportsman is an extremely popular restaurant well renowned for local fish and home churned butter. There is also Whitstable Castle that you can explore to learn more about the history of the town.

Deal
38 minute drive
Deal is a coastal town just 8 miles away from Dover and Ramsgate and is a former mining, fishing and garrison town. Its long stretched pebble beach is perfect for exploring along with the many narrow streets going all around the town. Deal also has a thriving food scene so make sure you try out a restaurant or café during your time here.

Margate
47 minute drive
There is plenty to see and do to make the most out of a trip to the seaside town of Margate. Located on the southeast coast of England you can spend time at the beach or enjoy a thrilling experience at Dreamland amusement park. There are also plenty of museums around the town, one for seashells, one about caves and even a Tudor House which is a museum inside of a Tudor house dating back to the 1500s.
