1. The Woodsman

If you are looking for contemporary British cooking in a traditional way then The Woodsman could be the perfect choice. They source all ingredients from the English countryside and cook using the ‘oldest method known to man’ wood, charcoal and flame. The menu is ever changing with plenty of dishes to choose from. The restaurant itself is housed in a rustic-chic 1500s building situated at Hotel Indigo.
2. The Encore

Enjoy British dining with some Mediterranean touches at The Encore, a premium pub, bar and restaurant. It’s centrally located and makes the perfect place to head for a bite to eat and if the weather is nice you can enjoy sitting outside in the courtyard. They have a seasonal menu that always includes traditional pub classics along with daily specials from the chef. And because it’s so central its perfect to make a trip to after a day exploring.
3. Veeno

Veeno is a chain of Italian wine bars and restaurants that are all across the UK and there is one right in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. Their menu has a range of classic Italian dishes from pizza and pasta to delicious tiramisu. Every Saturday they also have a DJ from 10am so if you are wanting to enjoy a late bite to eat you can stay into the evening to listen to the DJ and have drinks.
4. The Boat House
Swans Nest, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 7LS | 11 minute drive
Enjoy sitting outside during a warm day and watch the boats go by as you tuck into some delicious food. The Boat House is located right on the river side in Stratford-upon-Avon and offers a delicious array of food from lamb rump to pork belly, fried chicken burgers to sweet potato tarts. It’s a unique dining experience with the best views of the river.

Plantarium Café is a vegan café offering a wide selection of plant-based meals and cakes. Whether you are looking for somewhere to stop for a coffee or you want to enjoy a bite to eat at lunch time this place is perfect. Their coffee comes from an award winning local roaster and they even offer the option to take your food away as they pack it up in a compostable box to help our planet.
6. The Cork & The Portuguese

This Portuguese wine & tapas restaurant in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon is the perfect place to go if you are looking for some delicious food in a bright and airy setting. The owners have a passion for all things Portuguese from the seafood to the meats, the cheese and the breads. Even the music and wine can be enjoyed at The Cork & Tile Portuguese.
7. No 37 Cafe
37 Sheep St, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6EE | 10 minute drive
This family run business is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or just a quick drink and a cake. No 37 Café is open 7 days a week 10am – 4pm and offers an array of delicious breakfast and lunch dishes like Paninis and soup or even a classic full English. They also have delicious hot drinks like hot chocolates, cappuccinos, and lattes. The café is also dog friendly which means you can go inside even if you are out with your four-legged friend.
8. Boston Tea Party
St Gregory’s Hall, Henley St, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6QW | 8 minute drive
Boston Tea Party is a funky café chain opposite Shakespeare’s Birthplace centre right in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. It has been voted the best café in Stratford by the Stratford-upon-Avon awards for the past two years. It’s a great choice for eating breakfast or lunch out with a range of things on offer from a full English to burgers or salads.
