some our favourite places in Bath
Roman Baths
Visit the Roman Baths, and explore 2000 years of rich history.
You’ll walk on the Roman pavements, and learn all about the ruins of the Temple of Sulias Minerva. View the fascinating artefacts, including a bronze head of the Goddess Sulias Minerva – the local goddess of sacred waters (well, that makes sense…!).
The baths are a wonderfully-preserved Roman site you can visit, and see what life used to be like – a truly cultural day out.
Royal Victoria Park
Opened in 1830, the park was named after the then 11-year-old Princess Victoria, who was present at the grand opening.
Victoria never returned to Bath again (we can’t understand why she’d miss out), but the park remains a huge expanse of parkland with a whopping 57 acres to explore!
There are so many activities to enjoy, including hot-air-balloon rides, 18-hole mini-golf course, zip lines, skateboard area and a huge adventure playground. A fabulous day out for everyone!
The Jane Austen Centre
Learn all about Britain’s most notable and talented author from the regency period. An interactive and immersive experience, guides dressed in period clothing will you take through the exhibits about Austen’s work and life.
Enjoy afternoon tea at the Regency Tea Rooms, where you can have a fresh cake and refreshing tea – just as Jane herself may have done!
Thermae Bath Spa
Spend the day at Britain’s original natural thermal spa, and swim in the pool high above the city. Blending light, water, glass and stone, the Thermae Spa has created a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city.
Relax in the open-air rooftop pool or enjoy the thermal waters of the indoor Minerva Bath, named after the Roman Goddess of Sacred Waters, Health and Wisdom (now that’s a bath we’d like to relax in!).
The Wellness Suite offers five relaxing experiences for you to choose from, with the themed steam rooms: an ice chamber and a magical celestial relaxation room among them! Take some time out on your city break, when you visit Thermae Bath Spa.
Bath Mill offers the best of both worlds, as it is ingrained in the Somerset countryside but located within easy reach of Bath city centre, just a couple of miles away from the resort.
It can be easily reached by car, on foot or by bike with a scenic canal side cycle path and walking route along the Newton Brook, which flows past our resort. Alternatively, you can make use of the convenient local bus service to get directly into the city centre without the requirement of paying for inner city parking.
