Gem Beeston is the fabulous lady behind the Instagram account @athomewithgem, and after recently staying with her friends at Norfolk Woods Resort & Spa we asked Gem some quick fire questions! Gem and her fiance, Dougie, run a property developing business together and document the process, along with her own beautiful home, over on Instagram.     Amazing, fun, exciting, relaxing, stress-free!
  • What stood out to you most about your lodge?
    It was huge, so spacious and comfortable!! There were 8 of us staying in there and it didn’t feel like we were all in there at all… so much room and the lodge is so well equipped. It is also styled beautifully.
  • What are your hints and tips for the local area? Norwich is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a drive too. There is lots to see and do there. There is also some great local villages and walks. Plus lots of brilliant pubs and places to eat.
  • What memory would you put on a postcard home?
    Absolutely our spa day! It was so relaxing and our massages were a real treat. The spa is beautiful.
  • Rate our facilities on a scale of 1 to super-duper-fan-dabby-dosy:
    Super-super-fan-dabby-dosy. There is honestly so much to do on site, it’s brilliant. There were activities to do every day – archery, zorb balls, you name it, you can do it. The bar and the restaurant are fab. There is also a brilliant swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam room! The lodge itself was really gorgeous, the interior is amazing and the hot tub was a real bonus!

Buying a holiday home can be intimidating, we’ve collated our most commonly asked questions by owners, is your question here?

Talacre Beach Resort has been a popular holiday home destination for over 50 years, with 5 star facilities available, only a 5 minute walk to the sandy beach and a wide range of caravans and luxury lodges available to buy to suit all budgets. With so much on offer it’s easy to see why Talacre Beach has been so popular.

Whether you’re a new owner or a seasoned owner looking for a change of scenery, it can all seem a little intimidating and you are sure to have a list of questions. In this post we’ve created a list of our most asked questions from owners, read below for more.


How often can I use my caravan?

We are open for 45 weeks of the year, and you are welcome to use your caravan as much as you like during this time.


Can I rent my caravan out?

No, Talacre Beach does not allow renting (sub-letting) of any owners caravans.


Can family and friends use it?

Yes, they can. On purchasing, you can receive up to 20 passes for your family and friends, which entitles them to all the benefits of ownership with us.


Do I get a discount in the facilities?

Owners don’t get a discount because they don’t need one – They get unlimited access and use of the park leisure facilities (indoor heated swimming pool, Gym, Saunas, pool side Jacuzzi and entertainment), they also book in on the Go-Active activities completely free of charge and have access to owner park events throughout the season, again free of additional charge in most cases.


What do the cost of site fees cover?

Site fees help the upkeep and general maintenance of the park. This includes everything from our 24 hour security team, to the fabulous grounds team keeping the park looking colourful. As an award winning holiday park, you can enjoy your own slice of the 5 star life at Talacre Beach.


Is there free Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is free across the park, and this includes your holiday home, where you can keep up to date with all your emails or social media, while enjoying the seaside.


Can I live in my caravan?

Although you are welcome to stay in your caravan as often as you wish during our 10 ½ month season, it cannot be your permanent home. You must have a permanent residence elsewhere and proof of residence is requested ever year.


Can I bring my dog?

Yes, we are a very dog friendly location with lots of local walks for you to enjoy, including the beach which will be only a 5 minute walk away from your caravan. We do ask that dogs are kept on a lead and they are picked up after, there are waste bins and pooper scoopers around the park.


What is a drain down service? Why would I need it?

A winter drain down service helps to protect your caravan. The service clears all of the water pipes that go into, and are around your caravan, of any water, which stops any burst pipes during winter frost months. We highly recommend this service to help protect your caravan during the winter, as we are all aware of how much damage a burst pipe can do.

Is my dog allowed at the park?

Yes, we are a very dog friendly location, with our very own enclosed dog field for your fur-babies to run free in! We do ask that outside of your holiday home and the dog field, dogs are kept on a lead. Please pick up any mess from your dog and dispose in the waste bins provided.

We would recommend you have a winterisation drain down service, this helps to protect your holiday home from water damage during the winter from months. The Bistro serves delicious meals for both lunch and dinner, including a selection of baked ciabatta’s, from minute steak, onion and blue cheese, to goats cheese and red onion chutney. The lunch menu serves a range of sandwiches and wraps, as well as light bite meals, which includes a roasted vegetable and tomato fettuccine, and a delicious Devonshire crab cake.

The evening menu boasts a wide range of dishes, with starters including black pudding scotch egg, the delicious main menu consists of dishes such as a creamy leek and asparagus risotto and a mouth-watering mixed grill, for all those meat lovers. The range of decadent desserts include the classic sticky toffee pudding, as well as a wonderful chocolate and hazelnut brownie, then you can wash all this down with a drink from our fully stocked bar.
