Our lodge retreat is the perfect place to relax and unwind with self-catering lodges suitable for every group size. Each lodge has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to make some delicious meals. But you are on holiday, so we’d imagine that one or two nights you’d like to enjoy a meal out, but where to go? We’ve done the research and put together this list of places to eat near the retreat that are less than a 15-minute drive away.
The Duck Inn
Pett Bottom Rd, Canterbury, CT4 5PB
This cosy and welcoming gastro pub is the perfect stop if you are looking for traditional but modern British food. It’s also a dog friendly pub and is popular with walkers. Their a la carte menu offers a range of delicious food from linguine to truffle and parmesan fries and a variety of delicious puddings and starters. Sunday lunch is also served weekly from 12pm – 4pm.
The Granville
Faussett Hill, Canterbury, CT4 7AL
Enjoy this modern family friendly pub just down the road from the resort. Offering a range of delicious pub food and various offers throughout the week like steak Tuesdays and burger Mondays. There are plenty of menus to choose from too from their main menu that changes seasonally to a party menu, vegan menu, dessert menu, set lunch menu, kids menu and Sunday roast menu.
Pinocchio’s
64 Castle St, Canterbury, CT1 2PY
Enjoy a rustic and traditional style Italian restaurant in the heart of Canterbury. Pinocchio’s is a family run Italian restaurant since 1987 and they use fresh ingredients that have been locally sourced in Kent and imported from Italy. The menu has a range of items to suit all from chicken liver pate to homemade pizza and of course plenty of delicious pasta options. As well as classic desserts like crème brulee, tiramisu and even a pizza Nutella!
The Old Gate Inn
162-164 New Dover Rd, Canterbury, CT1 3EL
Enjoy this country pub just a 10-minute drive away from Canterbury Reach. The Inn dates all the way back to 1728 and has since become a well-loved pub in the area. Serving all the classic pub dishes like classic Sunday roasts, fish and chips and burgers to seasonal dishes that change throughout the year. They also offer takeaway and delivery so you could enjoy their delicious food from the comfort of your lodge.
Chapmans of Canterbury

Chapman’s is an extremely popular seafood restaurant that has been serving locals and visitors delicious dishes for over three decades. Using the finest locally sourced seafood and produce they have created an amazing a la carte menu full of various small and large plates. Whether you fancy some crab, lobster, chicken or even beef there will be something on the menu for you. As well as a range of delicious desserts like sticky toffee pudding and cheese boards.
The Corner House
1 Dover St, Canterbury, CT1 3HD
This independently owned restaurant serves delicious meals using locally sourced produce. The Corner House opened in 2016 and has since been one of the most popular restaurants in Canterbury. They have various menus available from a la carte, Sunday lunch, set lunch and kids menu. On their a la carte menu you will find things like mushroom and chestnut soup, flat iron steak, beetroot burger and more so there is plenty to suit all.
