Mullion Cove is a stunning area on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall that is nestled between steep cliffs. It is known for its picturesque harbour, fishing, and it is a great area to enjoy kayaking or paddleboarding. Whether you are staying with us at our resort or planning on visiting the area we’ve put together a list of different places to eat near Mullion Cove. From family run cafes to dog friendly pubs there is a great variety of options listed below.
Porthmellin Café
Mullion, Helston TR12 7ES | 3 minute walk
Porthmellin Café is a cosy family fun café serving some delicious food throughout the day. Whether you are after breakfast out, sandwiches, hot baguettes, traditional afternoon tea or just somewhere to stop for a drink and a piece of cake. And with it being right by the harbour you can enjoy this café as a pit stop in between exploring the area. It is also dog friendly and only a 3 minute walk down the lane from our retreat.
Mullion Cove Hotel
Mullion Cove Hotel, Helston, Lizard Peninsula TR12 7EP | 8 minute walk
The Mullion Cove Hotel is a hotel, spa, and restaurant right on a clifftop overlooking Mullion Cove, you can easily walk from the retreat and enjoy the views along the way. The hotel has an AA Rosette-winning restaurant with incredible sea views across the harbour and beyond. Offering all sorts of dishes from monkfish to steak as well as breakfast options, afternoon tea and lighter bites such as sandwiches. There is indoor and outdoor seating too which is perfect for the summer months.
Poldhu Beach Café
Poldhu Cove, Mullion, Helston TR12 7JB | 6 minute drive
Poldhu Cove is right around the corner from Mullion Cove and is a sandy sheltered beach with Poldu Beach Café right on the beach. A takeaway café offering a great selection from paninis to a full English as well as plenty of pastries, cakes and baked goods and delicious drinks. And with it being right on the beach it makes the perfect spot for food during a beach day. They also have plenty of outdoor picnic benches for you to use during your visit.
Jumunjy Thai
The Old Post Office, Cury Cross Lanes, Helston TR12 7AY | 10 minute drive
Jumunjy Thai is known for its authentic cuisine as well as being the UK’s most southerly Thai restaurant. The business originally started on the island of Koh Phangan, Thailand by husband and wife, T and Phansa and now is situated inside an old post office in Helston. They use ingredients imported directly from Thailand to create all their dishes as well as day to day produce being locally sourced from farms around the Lizard Peninsula. Enjoy all sorts of dishes from Pad Thai, Panang, curry and more.
The Mounts Bay Inn

The Mounts Bay Inn offers everything you’d expect from a traditional pub but with a modern twist in the heart of Cornwall. They use locally sourced ingredients to create each dish as well as a catch of the day from Newlyn. Enjoy all the classic pub dishes from fish and chips or lasagne to a Sunday lunch. There are both indoor and outdoor seating available and dogs are welcome in both the bar area and the beer garden which is perfect if you are on holiday with your four-legged friend.

Since the 16th century The Old Inn has provided food and respite for travellers and today you can head here for some classic pub food. The dishes they create use as much local produce as possible from the meat and fish to the seasonal vegetables. With both indoor and outdoor seating and dogs welcome, the whole family can come and enjoy some delicious food here.
