What better way to spend the British spring and summertime than with a coastal staycation?

Since we have 26 resorts across the UK and plenty of them are dotted along the UK coastline, we’d like to think we know a thing or two about what makes a great coastal staycation. So with that being said, we have whittled down our resorts and put together a list of the best coastal staycations in the UK. Whether you are after venturing over to the North Wales coast or planning a trip down south we’ve got the perfect resort for you. Have a read and see which one takes your fancy the most.

Beach Cove Coastal Retreat

Beach Cove Coastal Retreat is located on the cliffs of Hele Bay in Ilfracombe and offers a unique stay perfect for two. The beach hut style accommodation creates the ultimate cosy stay with a small kitchen living area with a sofa, tv and fully equipped kitchen, along with a spacious bedroom and ensuite. Some of the accommodation also has their own private hot tub where you can sit and enjoy the view out across the bay.

When it comes to beaches you will be spoilt for choice with the options close to Beach Cove. Firstly, Hele Bay is right on your doorstep, a small, shingle beach which becomes more sandy as the tide goes out. The Tunnels Beaches are another great option in the town, a beach that is only accessible through tunnels that were built in the 1820’s and offers a unique experience with plenty of rock pools and rugged scenery.

Located right by the infamous Mullion Cove, our coastal retreat offers everything you’d want out of a relaxing coastal staycation. With self-catering lodges perfect for groups of all sizes with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas and bedrooms plus some have the option to have your own private hot tub. And with no facilities on site, you will be able to use this as your base for exploring the area.

Since the resort is located on the Cornish coast it is obvious that it you won’t be far away from some incredible beaches. One of them being Kynance Cove on the Lizard peninsula. Enjoy the walk down to the cove with its white sand and turquoise water and explore the many rock stacks, islands and caves. Another great beach is Poldhu Cove, a large sandy beach perfect for surfing, relaxing and enjoying a bite to eat at the café.

If you are after the perfect staycation in Cornwall for families whilst being close to the coast, then Sandymouth Holiday Resort would be the perfect choice. Just down the road from the resort you will find Sandymouth Beach, backed by dramatic cliffs and a huge stretch of golden sand it makes a great trip out if you are wanting to stay near the resort. There are plenty of rock pools and it makes a great sunset spot. Another beach that is worth visiting is Summerleaze Beach in Bude and is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. With plenty to do on the beach and around Bude you can easily spend the whole day here.

Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat & Woodside Coastal Retreat

We have two resorts on the Isle of Wight that are sister resorts, Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat and Woodside Coastal Retreat. Both offering lodge staycations with private hot tubs and fully equipped kitchens. Woodside Bay has a bar on site that both resorts can use and there is access to Woodside Beach from Woodside Coastal.

The Isle of Wight is known for its history, specifically its history around dinosaurs and many of the fossils that have been discovered were found amongst the beaches on the island. Yaverland Beach is one of the best beaches and offers a long stretch of sand for exploring and great swimming waters for all. And whilst you’re on the beach you can keep an eye out for if you can spot any fossils from the islands past.
