terms and conditions: Dog Face of Darwin Escapes Competition 

1. Eligibility 

  • The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over.
  • Entrants must be the legal owner of the dog they submit for the competition.
  • One entry per dog. Multiple dogs from the same household may be entered separately.

2. Competition Overview 

  • The Dog Face of Darwin Escapes competition will be conducted in two stages:
  • Regional Shortlisting: Dogs will be shortlisted via public social media polls across 7 Dog Fest locations.
  • Final Voting: The 7 regional finalists will be entered into a final public vote on social media. One dog will be crowned the overall winner and become the Dog Face of Darwin Escapes.

3. Entry Requirements 

  • To enter, participants must participate in a photoshoot with The Canine Story at the Darwin Escapes stand and opt in to become ‘The Dog Face of Darwin’
  • A photo, social media handle and brief description of their dog via the designated entry form must be provided
  • By entering, you confirm that the dog is your own and that we have the right to share the image on our social media platforms and for our marketing purposes.

4. Selection Process 

  • After each Dog Fest show, Darwin Escapes will select a shortlist of entries per location to be featured in a public vote across Darwin Escapes and The Canine Story social media profiles.
  • Public votes will determine one finalist per location.
  • The 7 regional finalists will then compete in a final social media poll, where the overall winner will be chosen by the public across the Darwin Escapes and The Canine Story social media profiles.
  • The overall winner of ‘The Dog Face of Darwin Escapes’ will be announced on 3rd October 2025.
  • The winner will be contacted via email on Friday 3rd October.
  • Winner must respond by: Wednesday 8th at 5pm or the prize will be forfeited and a new winner selected.

5. Winner Prize 

  • The winning dog will become the official “Dog Face of Darwin Escapes” for the year, 30th September 2025 – 30th September 2026.
  • The winner will receive two complimentary UK holiday breaks at Darwin Escapes resorts (dates and locations to be agreed upon with the winner and subject to availability).
  • The winning dog (and owner) will be required to create and share engaging social media content during each break, showcasing their dog enjoying the resort experience. This content may be shared on both the owner’s and Darwin Escapes’ official social media channels.
  • Winner will be required to be involved in an PR opportunities created and managed by Darwin Escapes.

6. Social Media Content Requirements 

  • Content must include high-quality photos and/or videos of the dog during the stay.
  • A minimum of 1 story per day (for the duration of the stay) and 1 reel for the complete stay must be shared and tagged with @darwinescapes and relevant hashtags provided.
  • Darwin Escapes retains the right to repost and use any submitted content for promotional purposes.

7. Additional Terms 

  • No purchase necessary to enter or win.
  • The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media platform.
  • Darwin Escapes reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition or these terms at any time.
  • The decision of Darwin Escapes in all matters regarding the competition is final and binding.

8. Data Protection 

  • By entering, you agree to the use of your dog’s name, likeness, and submitted images for promotional purposes in relation to this competition.
  • Any personal information provided will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
