Peak Cavern

The Peak Cavern is known for being the largest natural cave entrance in the British Isles and makes a great day out in the Peak District. Whether you are wanting to visit and have a tour around the impressive cave or you’re planning to book tickets for the many concerts and events that they have on throughout the year, this attraction is perfect for everyone. Steeped in history and once home to rope-makers who worked at its entrance, the cavern offers a fascinating insight into the past. Surrounded by stunning limestone scenery, it’s an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

Heights of Abraham

The Heights of Abraham is an incredible hilltop country park and show cavern attraction set within 60 acres of beautiful woodland in Matlock. Accessible by an iconic cable car ride over a limestone gorge, it offers an unforgettable experience from the moment you arrive. You can explore fascinating underground caverns on guided tours, discover the site’s rich history through interactive exhibitions, and let younger adventurers enjoy exciting play areas. Once at the summit, you’re rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views across the Derwent Valley, making it a perfect day out for families, friends, and groups of all ages.

Monsal Trail

Bakewell, DE45 1GE

The Monsal Trail is a scenic route through the heart of the Peak District and offers a peaceful escape in nature. The trail follows a former railway line and winds through rolling hills, valleys and dramatic limestone dales which is why it is so popular for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Along the way, you pass through historic railway tunnels and cross impressive viaducts that overlook the River Wye below. The flat, well-maintained path makes it accessible for all abilities, while picnic spots and nearby cafés provide perfect resting points. The trail is 8.5 miles long and the best place to start is at the Bakewell end.

Ladybower Reservoir

Another great place for a walk is Ladybower Reservoir. It is an amazing huge stretch of water within the hills of the Peak District. Matlock Farm Park

Matlock Farm Park is a great family attraction set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, offering a mix of fun activities and friendly animals to meet. Children can burn off energy in the various outdoor play areas or race around the track on pedal go-karts, perfect for all ages to enjoy.
