There’s plenty of festive fun to be had in Dorset over the next couple of months…

 

Dorset has an abundance of festive events on offer this season to get you in the Christmas spirit not matter what age you are. We’ve put together a list of some of the best Christmas Markets to visit whilst you’re down on the South Coast so whether you want some special gifts or festive refreshments keep reading this blog to pick an event that suits you!

Where: The Tank Museum, BH20 6JG / When: 1st & 2nd Dec / Times: 10am – 5pm / Prices: Adult 13, Child £8.50

This Vintage Christmas fair is the perfect place to get into the Christmas spirit with your family at The Tank Museum, the festive market will include an extensive range of stalls to wander around, with unique handmade gifts you can’t find on the high street. You’ll also find out what it was like at Christmas time during the 1920’s, with a number of themed activities for all the family to enjoy, with Santa’s Grotto to enjoy, a delicious Christmas Carvery and Vintage afternoon tea, with live music to entertain all. You’ll also get to see Santa arrive in a tank on both days, as well as learn more about the history of living during the 1920’s from living history actors wandering around and talking with you.

 

Bournemouth christmas markets

Where: Town Centre, BH1 2AA / When: 16th Nov – 2nd Jan

This wonderful Christmas market offers endless wooden chalets to wander through with handmade gifts, Christmas decorations and local produce to purchase at your leisure. You could find the perfect gift for that special someone at one of these beautiful chalets, then indulge in some hot chocolate, mulled wine, traditional Christmas treats such as mince pies and delicious roasted chestnuts. Head over to the two-storey Apline Lodge where you can enter Santa’s Grotto, be transported to the North Pole and meet Father Christmas himself, there will also be an indoor ice skating rink to enjoy. Get in the festive spirit with this popular, annual Christmas extravaganza!

 

Dorchester christmas cracker

Where: Corn Exchange, DT1 1HF / When: 6th Dec / Times: 4pm – 8pm

This popular annual event will be offering fabulous live music throughout the evening, with local choirs and bands taking to the stage, wander the many stalls selling beautiful handmade crafts and gifts to find that special someone the perfect present. Or head to the Christmas Craft Fair to stock up on your festive supplies for your own crafty goodies at home, there will also be delicious festive food on offer, with a special guest turning on the Christmas lights at 6:30pm too!

Where: Haynes International Motor Museum, BA22 7LH / When: 1st – 23rd Dec / Times: 10:30am – 4pm / Prices: Adult £14.50, Child £9

Follow the Christmas trail around the fabulous museum, where Santa’s reindeer have gone missing while the jolly red man was getting ready for Christmas! Help Father Christmas find his silly reindeer and win a present from the festive lucky dip-bin. Not a Christmas market, but some festive fun for the little ones at this popular museum.
