Make a splash with Dorset’s latest and greatest attraction! Looking for something slightly different to the usual on your holiday escape in Dorset? Why not take a look at one of our favourites; Dorset Water Park.

On hearing about the re-opening of the Dorset Water Park this March we just had to give it a try!

Voted one of the best in the UK and based just a stone’s throw from the picturesque Corfe Castle, you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful backdrop for a fun filled day of traversing the multitude of inflatable obstacles on offer.

so what’s it all about?

Remember the TV show ‘It’s a Knockout’ and fancied giving it a go yourself? Well we did too and that’s what lead us to the Dorset Water Park. At its core the idea is that you take part in 2 giant inflatable obstacle courses set across 2 beautiful lakes located a short drive up Studland Road from the castle, and yes, it’s EXACTLY as fun as it looks!

We started our adventure by meeting the friendly team at Dorset Water Park and getting changed into the wet suits and life jackets provided. Raring to go and with an hour of bouncing, splashing, swinging and perhaps a little bit of falling over we were keen to get going. With 30 minutes on the Castle Lake and then a further 30 minutes on the Woodland Lake there’s so much to get stuck in to that it feels like no time has passed at all.

Each of the two lakes have a very different feel to them and are well worth having a good explore to properly appreciate all of the quirks on offer. Some of our favourite areas of the water park include the ‘slack line’, ‘wiggle bridge’ and continuing the 90’s TV theme the ‘gladiator rings’. With so much on offer it would be a shame to spoil the surprise before a visit so simply our best recommendation is to head on over and give it a try for yourself.

If you fancy giving it a go with a larger group of friends there’s some excellent party packages on offer for school trips, birthday parties, stag and hens.

our top tips

  • Be sure to bring swimwear for the day and a towel for after you’ve finished
  • Pace yourself, don’t puff yourself out too quickly!
  • Don’t worry about bringing food and drink, there’s a great refreshments available on site at the Snack Shack
