Known for being Britain’s Greatest Palace, Blenheim Palace is just a 2 minute drive or a short walk away from the lodge retreat. And since we’re on the Blenheim Estate grounds you must explore all that Blenheim Palace has to offer. From the grand Palace to the Park and Gardens with the Adventure Play, finding The Harry Potter Tree and so much more. The Oxfordshire Museum
Fletcher’s House, Park St, Woodstock, OX20 1SN | 4 min drive from resort
Located in Woodstock in an 18th century house, The Oxfordshire Museum tells the story and history of Oxfordshire through the many galleries and exhibitions that go throughout the museum. As well as learning about the history of the county you can also enjoy the interactive dinosaur gallery which is extremely popular with families. There is also a café at the museum where you can enjoy a drink and bite to eat during your way around.
Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum
Park St, Woodstock, OX20 1SN | 3 min drive from resort
Enjoy learning more about the military at the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock. It is located in the gardens in the grounds of The Oxfordshire Museum and Woodstock Library. As you make your way around the museum you can learn about Secret Agents, Winston Churchill, Prisoners of War, A Woman’s War and more. So if you are wanting a family day out where you can all learn something new in Woodstock then this is a great choice for you.
Combe Mill Blenheim Palace Sawmills, Combe, Witney, OX29 8ET | 10 min drive from resort
Combe Mill is the original sawmill and workshop of the Blenheim Palace Estate and is a Grade II listed building. It is now a working industrial museum where you will be able to get an insight to what it was like working in the Victorian times. As well as the museum there are also various events throughout the year and the Combe Mill Riverside Tea Room that is open every Wednesday serving hot and cold food and drink.
Pingle Dr, Bicester, OX26 6WD | 21 min drive from resort
For all the shopping lovers out there, you will be pleased to know that Bicester Village is just 20 minutes away from the lodge retreat. And with over 160 designer brands to browse you can easily spend a whole day here. Enjoy brands like Coach, Jimmy Choo, Vivienne Westwood, Reiss, Diesel and more. There is also a great selection of places to head for a bite to eat on your way around.
Enstone, Chipping Norton, OX7 4ER | 13 min drive from resort
Known for being one of the finest houses in the UK, Ditchley Park is a great day out and is a place rich in history. You can book a guided tour around Ditchley Park which includes optional tea and biscuits. Learn all about the Grade I listed Palladian building as you make your way around the mansion that is set in 300 acres of parkland.
