Lake Windermere

Known for being the largest natural lake in England being 10.5 miles long and 219 feet deep, Lake Windermere makes a great day out for all. Head to the Bowness-on-Windermere where you can take part in a range of activities on and near the lake such as water skiing, sailing, horse riding and more. Or you can just enjoy a walk in the area taking in the views of the lake from the various viewpoints. It’s somewhere worth visiting and you can easily spend a day here.
Aira Force Waterfall
Penrith, CA11 0JS | 33 min drive from Keswick Reach | 28 min drive from Thanet Well
Aira Force Waterfall is one of the most famous of the Lake District waterfalls and has a dramatic 65-foot drop. You can follow the path along the stream and through woodland until you get to the viewpoint at the base of the waterfall. Or you can complete a full walking loop around Aira Force Waterfall and Ullswater which is a moderate hike but offers incredible views across the Lake District.
Alpacaly Ever After

Alpacaly Ever After is a unique experience that all animal lovers will enjoy. Their mission is to rehome alpacas and llamas from across the country. There are various adventures you can enjoy from a basic meet and greet to walking with the alpacas and llama trekking. The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction

Beatrix Potter is famous for her writing and illustrations, specifically her children’s books like The Tale of Peter Rabbit. The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction brings all of her enchanting stories to life. You will be able to walk through the exhibition and see all the favourite characters from the books as well as explore the award-winning outdoor Peter Rabbit Garden. There is also a café that is open every day serving hot drinks, lunch options and even afternoon tea.
Muncaster Castle

The Muncaster Castle & Gardens is a privately owned castle that welcomes visitors all year round. It is the perfect attraction for family days out and has plenty to see and do. You can explore the historic and haunted castle and gardens as well as visit the Hawk and Owl Centre which is in the castle grounds. Learn about various birds and watch the flying displays that take place throughout the day.
The Lakes Distillery

The Lakes Distillery is a whisky, vodka and gin distillery in Cockermouth that offers various tours throughout the year. Located in a renovated Victorian farmstead, the distillery is open to visitors who want to learn about the process of making a spirit from start to finish. They have also won various awards throughout the year including ‘World’s Best Single Malt’ in 2022.
Lowther Castle and Gardens
