Piran Meadows is only a short distance from Newquay, a beautiful seaside town with family friendly things to do all over February half term!
Close to many of the region’s most famous landmarks, Piran Meadows is the perfect place to base your half term holiday from. And with a fabulous Go Active+ programme to join in with, including some special romance-themed activities for Valentine’s Day, you won’t even need to venture off park for a fun filled day out! But if you are looking to explore the local area, here are some suggestions for half term activities…
the eden project
The Eden Project is a unique day that is far more than just plants, with the biomes having their very ecosystem you can learn all about the interesting and exotic flowers housed there. As well as the special half term Storyfest event, which is a children’s book festival like no other, a place where they can let their imagination run wild, and the whole family will enjoy the Roald Dahl inspired shows, as well as other various activities and readings! Don’t miss the ‘Roald Dahl and the Imagination Seekers’ interactive theatre show, as well as the reading and live illustration sessions by creators of Horrible Histories and The Paper Dolls. Drop by the brand new live escape room, Eden Escape: Alien Rescue, where your mission is to rescue a dying alien before time runs out and work as team to solve the mysterious clues and challenges. And don’t forget to have a go at the ice skating rink, which closes down on 19th Feb, where you can choose general skating or even book a closed session, or some fun toddler time where you can teach the little tots to have on the ice!
camel creek adventure park
Great fun for all the family, visit the Cornish Craft Market where Camel Creek have invited small businesses to showcase their work and sell their products, supporting the local community. Enjoy some time at the Dragon’s Kingdom heated, indoor play area, with a wave rider!
air ambulance open day

The annual open day gives everyone the chance to enjoy a fun day out supporting the local Air Ambulance! Held in the hanger it is the perfect chance to meet the paramedic aircrew and get a good look at the wonderful air ambulance itself! With pop up charity shops selling top notch produce and goods at bargain prices you can shop for all the family, and the teddy tombola has the sweetest bears to win, all for a wonderful cause! There will be delicious homemade cakes, with tea and coffee on offer too!
