Surrey is a beautiful part of the English countryside, plenty of spooky castles and woods to explore this half term Halloween.Tilford Woods Lodge Retreat is in the heart of the stunning Surrey countryside, but only a short train ride away from the capital city of London, where there are a plethora of events happening over the half term. But there are some events that are a little close to the park too…


fright nights at thorpe park

When: 14th – 16th & 21st – 31st Oct. Time: 3pm Start. Prices: £29.99


Along with all the thrill seeking rides open at night, this special time of year the world renowned Thorpe Park puts on a multi award winning Halloween show. There are an amazing 6 live action scare zones; The Blair Witch zone that has new scenes for 2016, The Big Top zone where you have to work your way through an abandoned carnival, as well as Containment which a walk through event where you have to solve puzzles to get out of four haunted rooms. The award winning Cabin in the Woods live action maze, where you choose your own fate and the road to safety is not easy, along with the Saw maze, where each room is a scene from the shocking and gruesome Saw movies and you have to escapes Puppet’s sadistic games… And brand new for 2016 is the Platform 15 scare maze, where you must walk the islands deserted and over grown rail road, which was the last known routed of the vanished locomotive, the Sleeper Express, but can you outrun what lies at the end of the track? A fun event for children of all ages, the daytime festival will be the biggest and best that Tulley’s Farm has had to date, with fun and exciting attractions for the little ones. There is the brand new 2016 Terror Trail and Twisted Funhouse, along with the classic Creepy Cottage back too. The Pumpkin Patch has plenty of activities for all the family, make sure to join the Spooky Hunt and pay a visit to the Department of Halloween Headquaters for some spooky stories! There will be live puppet shows, corn cannons, pumpkin chuckin’(sounds like the best thing ever), paintball and all the usual rides at Tulley’s for some spine-tingling fun.

The night time festival at Tulley’s Farm is not for the faint hearted, they create a unique and fully immersive scare experience that blend great design, talented actors and a splattering of comedy throughout too. There are 8 live haunted attractions in total, with live music playing throughout the night and great food on offer too, with award winning street theatre. The live action zones are; The Chop Shop, The Colony, The Cellar Haunted House, Horrorwood Haunted Hayride, Hell-ements, The Creepy Cottage and brand new for 2016 are the Coven of 13 and PanDEMONiums Carnival, where the slogan is ‘smiles can be painted on, but what lies beneath?’ Be prepared to be scared silly at these amazing live action haunts, book now!

Join a different kind of school this Halloween Half Term at Willa’s first ever School of Witchcraft, for a one stop to a spooktacular fun family day out. there will be magical merriment you can shake your wand at as you work your way through the Wicked Woodland walk and encounter it’s newest resident, the Woodland Troll! Help Willa create some magical spells to being back her Whizz, there is also pumpkin carving, face painting, the spider shy and a troll quiz, as well as a fantastic firework display on 30th October to end the week!
