Penrith is a fantastic place to visit at anytime of year, but is so magical at Christmas and the wonderful Penrith Winter Festival 2016 makes the trip even more festive!
With almost a months worth of festivities to be had, Penrith goes all out for its amazing winter festival. Kicking off with the switching on of the lights, the opening of the Christmas Bazaar and starting the high street window dressing competition, you will have an amazing night of festive fun!
The Bazaar is a traditional wooden chalet market (wooden chalets are needed this far north, burr!) and it gives you the perfect opportunity to hunt for a unique Christmas gift for that special someone in your life. Indulge in a cheeky glass of mulled wine, there will be appearance from local choirs and bands will set the festive atmosphere, and don’t forget to visit Santa’s Winter Wonderland chalet to see the jolly chap himself!
Make sure to follow the trail of the mischievous elves around the town, take your best #elfieselfie, make sure to either scan the QR code on the bottom of the hidden elves, all around the high school, and tag the council on twitter to be in with a chance of winning a fabulous festive prize!
