There is plenty of spooky fun along the Devon coastline this Halloween

 

Our Hawkchurch Resort & Spa is set in the ideal location for that perfect October half-term break with close access to Lyme Regis there are an array of activities taking place to keep your little Monsters entertained on their Halloween Holidays!

 

Lyme slime halloween festival

Where: Lyme Regis Town Centre / When: 21st – 29th Oct / Times and prices vary depending on activity

Brand new event descending Lyme Regis town centre, and will be an event like no other. Offering a full week of frightful activity in various venues around Lyme Regis including a fun showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show, lots of beastly baking, creepy crafts and the spine-tingling town trail. With the Lyme Slime Fun Run as the finale event to the week of fiendishly activities.

Where: Lyme Regis Museum / When: 23rd – 26th Oct / Times: 11am – 3pm / Prices per activity

Run by the friends of Lyme Regis Museum, bring your little ones along and explore all the museum has an offer and join in on the fun activities, where your children can create a scary monster of the deep, or a spooky dinosaur decorations to take home! Endless fun for pocket money prices.

Where: Tiverton Museum / When: 23rd – 25th Oct / Times: 10:30am – 4.30pm

Explore the museum, and take part in the fun October Half Term Crafts, with bug and insect theme crafts taking place for ages between 4 and 11. On the 25th October, young visitors to the museum can follow the fun pumpkin trail all over the museum in the fun Museums at Night exhibition, from 5pm until 6pm, there will be spooky crafts available too! Adult visitors can search the museum for any ghosts and ghouls from 6pm – 8pm, conduct your search via torchlight.

 

back to the future for halloween

Where: World of Country Life / When: 22nd – 31st Oct / Times: 10am – 5pm

Join in on the spooky goings on this October Half Term! You can join in on the normal daily activities, including bottle feeding, animal handling, the birds of prey flying displays and the ferret racing total wipe-out! Angus McFly will be wowing all ages with his fabulous Back to the Future show, while celebrating the 40th birthday anniversary of World of Country Life, there will also be a whole host of Halloween activities including pumpkin carving and a treasure trail!

Where: Dinosaur World / When: 20th – 28th Oct / Times: 11am – 5pm

Help to save the dinosaurs from the awfully wicked witch and creepy ghosts and ghouls, take part in the Halloween Horrors Hunt to win a Dinosaur Expert Certificate and a free 160 million year old fossil. Explore the exhibition in the dark at the ‘Lights Out Torch Tour’, enjoy a scary ghost story and meet gorgeous Terry the baby T.Rex.

Where: Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves / When: 20th – 31st Oct / Times: 10am – 4pm

Head into a cave tour with your activity sheets and take part in the underground pumpkin hunt – if you count the number of pumpkins correctly you’ll get a prize! There will be lots of activities involving a witches hat trail and a spooky dig. This super-spooky Ghost Show is not for the fainthearted, (or children under 8), you will venture around these underground caverns, with a fabulous storyteller and learn about the creepy folklore in South Devon. The show is intended to scare, so beware!

Where: Pennywell Farm & Wildlife Centre / When: 24th – 29th Oct / Times: 10am – 5pm

Enjoy all treats and no tricks at Pennywell Farm for October Half Term! This is the last weekend you can enjoy all the adorable animals at Pennywell, the cute critters will be eagerly awaiting their last cuddles of the year. Enjoy the four farm rides, watch the new activity show or display and you’ll never miss a show with there being on every half hour. Matt Pang will be performing and wowing all with his juggling skills, as well as a fun sing-a-long with Poco Drom, plus so much more happening this half term!

Where: Thelma Hulbert Gallery / When: 27th Oct / Times: 5pm – 9pm

An after hours spooky Halloween party… join in the National Museums at Night Festival around the UK! You’ll get up close and personal with creepy critters like snakes, spiders and lizards. Indulge in spooky art activities and freaky face painting! Mouth-watering meals will be on offer, indulge in wood-fired pizzas and delicious Caribbean food.
