When we first opened our doors back in 2012, we couldn’t have imagined how many of you would love our beautiful Somerset resort. Since then, we’ve worked tirelessly to maintain our high levels of quality and customer service to provide an unrivaled experience in the Somerset countryside.

Our resort is located just a stone’s throw away from Cheddar Gorge and has been independently rated as a five-star standard, thanks to its fantastic facilities and accommodation – with something to offer the whole family.

Here at Cheddar Woods, the lodges we offer are are up to a truly impeccable standard. With full self-catering facilities and a wide range of entertainment luxuries, you can come and relax, in spacious and beautifully- decorated surroundings.

Your kitchen will be both well-equipped and modern in design, featuring everything that you’ll need for self catering. This includes a fridge freezer, an oven, a microwave and much more! All you’ll need to do is bring the food supplies (and your expert cooking skills, of course!). You also don’t need to overpack before travelling, as all kitchens have their own washing machines.

The open-plan living area also has an entertainment zone, where you’ll find your flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, a DVD player and much more. Guests are also provided with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the duration of their stay.

Want to take the five-star luxury a step further? Then why not book one of our hot tub lodges, where you can sit out and soak, while you take in the tranquillity which is such a feature of the Somerset countryside. (These tend to get snapped up quickly and rarely appear in our feed of last-minute accommodation options above. If you are lucky enough to see one, then make sure you book it quickly!)

We recommend that all our guests venture out into the surrounding region if they wish to, as you’ll have plenty of choices here! The resort is located just a stone’s throw away from the iconic Cheddar Gorge, with its legendary caves and breathtaking natural scenery. There are plenty of local walking routes to explore as you make your way up the Gorge itself, and once you go once, we can’t guarantee you won’t want to visit again and again, during your time with us.

Also located in this area is the very peaceful city of Wells, which is steeped in history. Take a walk around the unique moated Bishop’s Palace and meander through the city’s quaint streets with its collection of local stores and high-quality cafes and restaurants. The stunning historic presentation of the city means that it has been used as the backdrop to many films and TV shows over the years, including the cult-hit Hot Fuzz starring Simon Pegg.

Prefer a day out at the seaside? Gorgeous beaches are also available nearby when you head to Weston-Super-Mare. With a friendly traditional British seaside feel, Weston-Super-Mare is perfect for fun days out on the beach with the kids. You can also take a stroll along the Grand Pier or alternatively venture into Weston-Super-Mare’s popular shopping district.

The on-site facilities are equally as impressive as your accommodation at Cheddar Woods, with plenty to offer the entire family. (We mean it too – come and take a look!)

This includes our tropically-heated indoor swimming pool, which laps gently at the sides and sits alongside our sauna and steam room if you want to sit back, relax, and take a moment for yourself.

If you’re in real need of some ‘me-time – don’t worry. We’ve got you covered, with the option of arranging treatment or two at the tranquil Eden Spa, where our friendly experts will be on hand to cater for your every need. We have formed a partnership with Aromatherapy Associates here at Cheddar Woods, so that we benefit from their decades of experience in the industry, as part of our quest to help provide you with an unrivalled experience during your stay.

Fancy something a little more active? Then take advantage of our Go Active programme which has something for all ages. You can get involved in a wide range of activities covering archery, fencing and even body zorbing. There are also child-specific activities to ensure that the kids don’t get bored at any point (and freeing the adults up to take advantage of other facilities which are available in park!).

The whole family can of course also gather together, and make the most of our fab pool tables and fun bowling alley, situated in the bar area next to our excellent (and family-friendly) restaurant.
