a great place to stay
Here at Rivendale we want all our guests to have a great holiday and our team are on hand to answer any questions. Need a little extra help? Just let us know.
We have 72 lodges, all of which have a minimum of three steps up to the entrances, and 2 tree houses which have a flat wooden walkway to the front but then steps down to the sunken hot tub. The majority of the resort is flat, with tarmacked pathways throughout for access. However, there are a number of lodges up a hillside with gravel paths, if you are in need of help for picking the best location for your break then please do get in touch with our team, either via a website contact form or call us on 01335 310441 (option 1).
The lighting around the resort is low level to reduce light pollution and making star gazing a must.
Our main complex building houses our reception, shop, bar and restaurant. It is fully accessible with ramps both in and out, as well as being flat throughout. In our award-winning restaurant the majority of our food is handmade on the premises and our team are trained to help with dietary requirements, just make sure to mention any intolerances and allergies when booking a table and ordering.
We’re always here to help!
we’re pet friendly!
At Rivendale we truly are pet friendly and we cannot wait to meet your pets!

And don’t forget our range of dog-friendly drinks at the bar, we stock Bark Beer and Paw-Star Martinis. And if your dogs want to round off the night with a desert, we have a great range of sweet treats including our dog-friendly ice cream!
All our tasty treats have been fully quality tested (a few times…) by our Hooman Resources Officer Ronnie and our Chief Bark Strategist Reggie, they would be happy to help your pup taste it too!
Your best furriend will love the 5* holiday just like you!
we’re always learning
Our team are always learning and inventing innovative ways to improve our relationship with the wildlife and landscape around us.
The team enjoyed a few days training with the Chester Zoo Ecology Team, learning all about the animals and plants we have at resort. The team where very interested in ways in which to grow its populations of certain animals and we also leaning about lifecycles and the best way in which we can support them.
This has led to us doing the following:
- Introducing new habitats
- Growing established habitats
- Installing hedgehog housing
- Installing wildlife cameras
- Introducing toad and newt patrols in damp weather
- Adding water butts around the main complex builidng to collect rainwater to refill ponds in hot dry weather
