general questions

Binsey Fell just across the main road is around a 45 minute to one hour’s hike each way along uneven terrain. From the top are panoramic views towards the Cumbrian Fells, Solway Coast, the Pennines and on a clear day the Irish Sea and Isle of Man on the horizon. A short drive away are family friendly forest walks at Dodd Wood and Whinlatter Forest, and beyond are lake Derwent Water near Keswick and Aira Force waterfall at Ullswater.

Yes you can, but please follow the same rules around the resort as you would use outside of it. We’d strongly advise that you wear helmets and reflective clothing if you or any other members of your party are planning on using bikes, heelies, scooters or skateboards. We also advise that children be supervised at all times.

holiday break questions

Yes, pets are more than welcome to stay at our resort with a number of pet friendly lodges available for holiday makers. All pet lodges come with a pet gate on the outside decking area.

We do however request that you include your pet on your booking when arranging your stay at Keswick Reach. For more information about this and our policies, please give us a call on 01768 776 510.

Both towels and bed linen are provided in all of our accommodation at Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat.

Unfortunately, BBQs are not permitted at Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat on account of us being in an environmentally sensitive area of the Lake District National Park.

Yes, this is fine. We kindly ask that you are there to collect any items from the driver at the allocated Collection Point only, as access for larger vehicles to the lodges is restricted.

We provide toiletries in the main bathroom, and in the kitchen there is a small complimentary welcome tea/coffee/milk/sugar tray and a mini cleaning parcel including a sponge, scourer, washing up liquid, bin liners and dishwasher tablets.

Lodges with “Premier” in their name will have hot tubs – this should also be stated in the lodge’s description. “Select” lodges have either a view or a secluded location; again this should be stated in the accommodation’s description. Please contact your booking agent to check whether you have booked a lodge with a log burner. Any upgrades or changes will need to be carried out by your booking agent.

Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat is located approximately 10 miles away from Keswick itself and approximately 10 miles away in the other direction from Cockermouth. This journey takes about 15 minutes normally by car in either direction.

Keswick Reach offers a small range of locally-sourced goods including everyday essentials, breakfast items and a selection of gifts such as jams, sweets and cuddly toys.

There are Co-op and Booths supermarkets located in the town of Keswick, a Sainsbury’s, Lidl and Aldi in Cockermouth, a Lidl and Co-op in Maryport, and a Morrisons, Tesco, Aldi and Asda in Workington.

Stagecoach bus service number 554 stops near our park, with three to four services per day running direct to Keswick and to Carlisle. Carlisle railway station is approximately 22 miles away and Penrith railway station around 26 miles. Local taxi services are also available, our staff can happily provide contact details once you arrive.

Each of our Keswick lodges have their own parking space. Additional parking is located throughout the retreat. For lodges with more than one car, limited additional parking is located throughout the retreat or as advised by a member of the site team during Reception opening hours. Please note that trailers, large vans and works vehicles are not permitted.

While signal strength cannot be guaranteed, we do provide Wi-Fi free of charge to all guests.

No, as this is restricted by a third party firewall and not compatible with our systems, which can also interrupt with the TV and WiFi in the lodge and can take time to reset.

We currently provide a free movie service on all lodge TVs. DVD players are not provided, but these are fine to plug into the back of the lodge TV with an HDMI cable if you bring your own.

resort questions

We’re pet-friendly, but do have a few rules to ensure the park can be enjoyed by pet-owners and non-pet-owners alike.

We ask that no dogs, pets, or animals of any kind may occupy a non pet unit without the prior permission of the Park Manager. (This can be achieved by including your pet on your booking form to ensure you are allocated a pet-friendly unit).

  • Where allowed, all pets must at all times be kept under proper control and must not enter any facility building, except the outdoor Dog Wash.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and prevented from fouling.
  • All fouling should be disposed of immediately in an appropriate manner.
  • In accordance with the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, the following breeds of dog are not permitted anywhere on the park at any time: Pit-bull Terrier Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero as well as any other breed at the Park Manager’s discretion.

Without satnav, from the South come off the M6 at junction 40 and follow the signs for the A66 towards Keswick. At the second roundabout on the A66 , take the 3rd exit onto A591 towards Carlisle and continue on this road for nine miles. The turning to the resort is on the left along the lay-by which runs alongside the main road. If approaching from the East on the A595, turn left onto the A591 at Bothel and continue straight for approx. 2 miles. The turning to the resort is on your right and is sign posted.
