General Questions

Check-ins are available from 16:00.

If you are likely to arrive later than 6pm, please call our retreat reception team on 017687 76510 (option 1) to let them know.

Check-out time is at 10:00 am on the day of your departure. Please drop your key into the box by the exit barrier.

We kindly ask that you leave your accommodation as you found it and take your rubbish/recycling to the bin bays located around the retreat.

Do not drive down any farm tracks or gravelled roads, we are located on the main A591 road between Bothel and the Castle Inn Hotel.

Yes, we are a pet-friendly retreat with a limited number of pet-friendly lodges available. Not all pet lodges have a gate or a fully enclosed decking. Please ensure you have added your pet on to your booking, otherwise you risk being turned away. Please also note that pets are not allowed to sleep in vehicles or on the outside decking areas overnight.

XL Bullys are welcome to our resorts as long as owners follow the government rules. They must have a muzzle and lead on at all times when outside, this includes on patios and decking areas of the lodge.

Unfortunately no. Our facilities are for our holiday guests only.

While signal strength cannot be guaranteed, we do provide Wi-Fi free of charge to all guests.

Binsey Fell just across the main road is around a 45 minute to one hour’s hike (each way) along uneven terrain. From the top are panoramic views towards the Cumbrian Fells, Solway Coast, the Pennines and on a clear day the Irish Sea and Isle of Man on the horizon.

A short drive away are family friendly forest walks at Dodd Wood and Whinlatter Forest, and beyond are lake Derwent Water near Keswick and Aira Force waterfall at Ullswater.

Yes, we are open 12 months of the year, including Christmas and New Year.

Stagecoach bus service number 554 stops near our park, with three to four services per day running direct to Keswick and to Carlisle.

Carlisle railway station is approximately 22 miles away and Penrith railway station around 26 miles.

Local taxi services are also available, our staff can happily provide contact details once you arrive.

Yes you can, but please follow the same rules around the retreat as you would use outside of it. We’d strongly advise that you wear helmets and reflective clothing if you or any other members of your party are planning on using bikes, heelies, scooters or skateboards. We also advise that children be supervised at all times.

We’re pet-friendly, but do have a few rules to ensure the park can be enjoyed by pet-owners and non-pet-owners alike. Please not that not all pet lodges have a gate or a fully enclosed decking.

We ask that no dogs, pets, or animals of any kind may occupy a non pet unit without the prior permission of the Park Manager. (This can be achieved by including your pet on your booking form to ensure you are allocated a pet-friendly unit).

  1. Where allowed, all pets must at all times be kept under proper control and must not enter any facility building. (excluding guide dogs)
  2. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times (unless in the dedicated dog areas) and prevented from fouling.
  3. All fouling should be disposed of immediately in an appropriate manner.
  4. In accordance with the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, the following breeds of dog are not permitted anywhere on the park at any time: Pit-bull Terrier Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero as well as any other breed at the Park Manager’s discretion.

Resort Questions

Yes, there is parking next to all our lodges.

Please ensure that ALL vehicles are registered at reception upon check-in. One- and two-bedroom lodges have one private parking space, our three- and four-bedroom lodges have two private parking spaces.

Extra parking is available in the main car park at the main entrance.

No.

Though there’s no pool or steam room, you’ll adore the adults-only Relaxation Suite, complete with lounge beds, Jacuzzi, bucket shower and sauna. Find out more below.

Lodges with “Premier” in their name will have hot tubs – this should also be stated in the lodge’s description. “Select” lodges have either a view or a secluded location; again this should be stated in the accommodation’s description. Please contact your booking agent to check whether you have booked a lodge with a log burner. Any upgrades or changes will need to be carried out by your booking agent.

We do not have a Cash Machine at the retreat and please note we cannot give cash back when paying with card.

The nearest Cash Machines are in Cockermouth and Keswick, please ask a member of staff for more details.

Unfortunately, BBQs are not permitted at Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat on account of us being in an environmentally sensitive area of the Lake District National Park.

Fire pits and fireworks are also not permitted.

Yes, one large bath towel and one small hand towel are provided for each guest.

Please note that we are unable to provide extra towels or bedding, although each lodge does come with a washing machine and a clothes rack (some lodges also have a dryer).

Yes, this is fine. We kindly ask that you are there to collect any items from the driver at the allocated Collection Point only, as access for larger vehicles to the lodges is restricted.

We provide a soap in each bathroom. In the kitchen there is a single bin bag, a small complimentary welcome tea/coffee/milk/sugar tray and a mini cleaning parcel comprising a sponge, tea towel and washing up liquid. Extra toiletries, household items and other essentials can be purchased in the small corner shop next to reception.

Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat is located approximately 10 miles away from Keswick itself and approximately 10 miles away in the other direction from Cockermouth. This journey takes about 15 minutes normally by car in either direction.

Keswick Reach offers a small range of goods including everyday essentials, breakfast items and a selection of toys.

No, as this is restricted by a third party firewall and not compatible with our systems, which can also interrupt with the TV and WiFi in the lodge and can take time to reset.

All of our holiday lodges are equipped with fridge freezers.

Unfortunately, the EV charger is currently out of service. The nearest car charging ports are in Keswick and Cockermouth.

No, the distribution of power to the units cannot sustain prolonged high usage.
