some of the best places to visit in Yorkshire

York city centre

There is so much to see and do in York that you’ll absolutely love exploring this historic city! Visit York Minster, which sits in the middle of the city and can trace its history back to the year 627 when the first wooden church stood on the site. Today, it’s now the largest medieval cathedral still standing in Northern Europe – that alone is worth the trip for true history enthusiasts!

Don’t miss the Jorvik Viking Centre for a fabulous and interactive attraction, where you can walk through history and learn more about the Vikings in a fun new way. Ideal for adults and children alike, discover more when you visit this fantastic cultural centre, just moments away from Kilnwick Percy Resort.

Other attractions in the city, which are must-see, include the fantastic National Railway Museum and York Dungeon, where you will meet famous faces from York’s history.

Bridlington is a great place for a day out with the family, with The RSPB Bempton Cliffs – great for photographing stunning sea views and showcasing an amazing variety of birds, including the bright and bubbly puffins!

Scarborough is also nearby, and with a variety of activities available, we think it’s well worth the short drive. There’s more to Scarborough than just its famous beach, however; its home to Scarborough Castle, as well as The Scarborough Fair Collection having a range of amazing vintage cars, steam engines and fair rides to enjoy.

Filey is another small town on Yorkshire’s coast with a bustling seaside community. Here you will find everything on offer from adrenaline-fuelled water sports at Filey Beach, to the stunning Crescent Gardens for a light stroll around.
